Edgar Allan Poe Doll
The Edgar Allan Poe Doll is a cuddly depiction of the still influential father of the Gothic genre, * short stories, detective stories and one of the worlds science fiction pioneers.
Little Edgar comes dressed in green lounge pants, a purple velvet jacket with black cuffs and collar, black shoes, a white collared shirt and a dashing cravat; did I forget to mention the detachable little raven atop his shoulder. His pants can be pulled down, there are ‘beans’ in his bum.
- The doll is 11inches tall or 27.94cm.
- Not designed to stand upright unaided.
Born 19th January 1809 – Died 7th October 1849, Edgar and not the doll, there is no voodoo allowed on these premises.
An author, writer of magazine stories, a journalist, a poet and a literary critic, long after his death, Poe is one of America’s most famous and influential writers.
*Poe did not create the genre, that honour goes to English author Horace Walpole in 1764.
Arguably, Poe’s most famous work was a narrative poem first published in 1845
Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore—
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
“‘Tis some visiter,” I muttered, “tapping at my chamber door—
Only this and nothing more.”
Not suitable for children under 6 years of age. Not suitable for pets.
As well as soft stuffing this doll contains non-toxic HDPE Pellets.
